"Waves of Grace Upon Grace!"

ree

"From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." - John 1:16-17 (ESV)

"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." - John 3:8

Today's Reflection

By the grace of God, grace upon grace is moving wave upon wave across the earth today, bringing the wind of His Spirit with great and mighty power as He causes His great Name and presence to be made known unto all who have eyes to see and ears that hear the words from the heart of God the Father as He begins to draw all near and dear into Himself. Yes, in compassion He is moving in oneness with those whom He is using as His vessels of honor as He pours Himself out on a world teetering on the edge of doubt in hopes of saving some from their own foolish choices before it's too late.

The Unstoppable Waves of Divine Grace

Imagine standing at the shore of a vast ocean, watching wave after wave roll in with rhythmic power and beauty. Each wave is distinct, yet part of the same mighty sea. This is the picture of God's grace in our time—not a single moment of mercy, but an endless succession of divine favor washing over humanity. Grace upon grace. Wave upon wave. Each surge of His presence building upon the last, creating a momentum that cannot be stopped by human resistance or worldly opposition.

The apostle John understood this reality when he wrote of receiving "grace upon grace" from Christ's fullness. The Greek phrase charin anti charitos literally means "grace in place of grace" or "grace following grace"—a continuous, unending supply. Just as one wave recedes only to be followed by another, God's grace never runs dry. When we think we've experienced the fullness of His mercy, another wave crashes over us with even greater power and beauty.

In this present hour, we are witnessing something extraordinary. The Spirit of God is moving across the nations with an intensity that marks pivotal moments in history. Like the wind that blew through the upper room on the day of Pentecost, the breath of God is stirring hearts, awakening the spiritually dormant, and calling forth a generation that will know Him intimately. This is not a gentle breeze but a mighty rushing wind that bends the proud, lifts the humble, and transforms everything in its path.

Eyes to See, Ears to Hear

Throughout Scripture, Jesus repeatedly said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." This wasn't merely about physical hearing but spiritual perception—the ability to discern what God is doing beyond the noise of the world. In our current age of information overload and constant distraction, the call to spiritual attentiveness has never been more critical.

God is speaking. His presence is manifesting. His glory is being revealed. But are we paying attention? Are our spiritual senses awakened and alert? The tragedy of every generation is not that God stops speaking, but that His people stop listening. We become so consumed with the temporal that we miss the eternal. We focus so intently on earthly concerns that we fail to perceive heavenly realities unfolding right before us.

The Father is making His Name known—not through spectacular signs alone, though He certainly can and does use them—but primarily through the transformation of human hearts. When a hardened skeptic encounters the living Christ and is forever changed, God's Name is glorified. When a broken marriage is restored through divine intervention, His presence is made manifest. When addiction's chains are shattered by the power of the Holy Spirit, the world takes notice that our God is real and active.

This revelation of God's character and power is not reserved for a select few. The invitation extends to "all who have eyes to see and ears that hear." It transcends denominational boundaries, cultural barriers, and social distinctions. The Spirit is moving among the wealthy and the poor, the educated and the unlearned, the religious and the unchurched. Wherever there is a heart willing to perceive and receive, God is making Himself known.

The Father's Drawing Power

Jesus declared in John 6:44, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him." This divine drawing is not coercive but irresistibly attractive. Like a magnet pulling iron filings, the Father's love exerts a spiritual force that awakens desire for Him in the human soul. Those who respond to this drawing discover that they were created for this very purpose, which is to know God as Father and be known by Him; to love Him and be loved by Him, to dwell in intimate fellowship with our beloved Father.

The phrase "near and dear" captures the heart of God's intention. He doesn't merely want servants who obey from a distance; He desires beloved children who draw close in tender loving affection and trust. He doesn't seek subjects who fear His wrath; He calls friends who delight in His presence. The Father is gathering His family, pulling them from the far country of independence and rebellion into the warm embrace of His household.

This drawing into Himself speaks of union, of oneness, of the mystical reality that Paul described when he wrote, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." Galatians 2:20

God's ultimate purpose is not merely to improve our circumstances or bless our endeavors, but to bring us into such intimate communion with Himself that His life becomes our life, His desires become our desires, His purposes become our purposes and this sacred oneness between us can never be divided as what God has joined together, no man can sparate. Amen

Vessels of Honor in Divine Partnership

The remarkable truth of this present move of God is that He chooses to work through human vessels. He could accomplish His purposes independently, yet in His wisdom and grace, He invites us into holy partnership with Him. Paul wrote to Timothy about being "a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy 2:21

What makes a vessel honorable? Not its outward appearance or impressive credentials, but its availability and purity. God is looking for clean vessels—hearts that have been washed by the blood of Christ, minds that have been renewed by His Word, wills that have been surrendered to His divine purposes. He seeks those who will say with Isaiah, "Here I am! Send me," and with Mary, "Let it be to me according to your word, Lord."

The concept of moving "in oneness" with God's vessels speaks to a profound spiritual reality. This is not about human effort or religious activity, but all about our willingness and cooperation with God the Father allowing His power to flow mightily through our yielded lives. It's the difference between working for God and working with Him as a Team. When we move in oneness with Him, His strength compensates for our weakness, His wisdom guides all of our decisions, and His love flows through all of our actions as a sacred blessing.

As God pours Himself out through these vessels of honor, the world bears witnesses of authentic Christianity through the lives of His beloved children and not a system of rituals or rules, but a living relationship with the a living God whom we cry out to Abba, Father. People will begin to see Christ in us, the hope of glory, as they encounter not our opinions about God, but the very presence of God manifesing in and through His manifested children for His glory.

A World on the Edge

The description of our world as "teetering on the edge of doubt" captures the precarious spiritual condition of our age. Despite unprecedented access to information and technology, humanity faces a crisis of meaning and purpose. The foundations that previous generations relied upon with there traditional values, institutional religion, societal norms, have been shaken and or abandoned and forsaken. Many find themselves adrift in a sea of relativism, where truth is subjective and morality has become negotiable, as everyone is compromising.

This doubt is not merely intellectual skepticism about religious claims; it's an existential uncertainty about life's fundamental questions. Why are we here? What is our purpose? Is there any meaning beyond material existence? Does anyone truly care about us? Into this void of doubt and great despair, God is pouring out His Spirit with compassion and power.

The Father's heart breaks for those making "foolish choices" that lead to utter destruction. Like the prodigal son squandering his inheritance in reckless living, countless souls are wasting their lives on empty pursuits that can never satisfy. They chase after pleasure, wealth, fame, or power, only to discover that these things cannot fill the that God-shaped void within them. They build their lives on foundations of sand, only to watch everything collapse around them when the storms come.

But God, in His rich mercy and compassion, is intervening. He's not content to watch humanity self-destruct. He's actively working to save "some from their own foolish choices before it's too late."

This phrase carries both urgency and hope. There is a window of opportunity, a divine season of grace, a day of salvation. The Spirit is striving with all of humanity, convicting of sin, righteousness, and judgment, calling people to sincere repentance and faith believing before the door of mercy closes, and the wrath of God comes upon the rebellious and all who have willfully resisted and rejected His loving kindness, goodness and mercy.

The Urgency of the Hour

The phrase "before it's too late" reminds us that we live in time, and time has consequences. Decisions made today shape destinies for eternity. The writer of Hebrews warns,

"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts" Hebrews 3:7-8. There is a "today" in which God is now speaking, a present moment in which His grace is available, a current opportunity to respond to His loving call.

This urgency should not produce fear but rather holy motivation. For believers, it means we cannot be passive or complacent. We must be about our Father's business, cooperating with His Spirit to reach the lost and disciple the found. We must pray with fervency, witness with boldness, and live with authenticity that demonstrates the truth of Christ in us.

For those who have not yet surrendered to Christ, the urgency is even more acute. The Bible speaks of a day when the door will be shut, when the opportunity for salvation will have passed. We don't know when that day will come for any individual, it could be through death, or through the hardening of one's heart beyond the point of return, or through Christ's second coming. What we do know is that "now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation" 2 Corinthians 6:2

Responding to the Wave

So how do we position ourselves to receive these waves of grace? How do we cooperate with the Spirit's movement in our generation? Here are several practical responses:

Cultivate Spiritual Sensitivity: Develop the habit of listening for God's voice through prayer, Scripture reading, and quiet meditation. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see what He's doing and your ears to hear what He's saying. Don't let the noise of the world drown out the whisper of God.

Surrender Completely: Become a vessel of honor by yielding every area of your life to God's lordship. Hold nothing back. Let Him cleanse you from sin, fill you with His Spirit, and use you for His purposes. The degree to which we experience God's power is directly related to the degree of our surrender.

Partner with God's Purposes: Look for opportunities to join what God is already doing. He's drawing people nigh unto Himself, therfore be ready to share your testimony, pray for the lost, and demonstrate Christ's love in practical ways, everyday. You may be the vessel through which someone encounters the living God.

Live with Urgency: Don't procrastinate in spiritual matters. Respond to God's promptings immediately. Share the gospel while there's still time. Reconcile broken relationships. Pursue holiness. Invest in eternal things rather than temporal pursuits.

Remain Expectant: Believe that God is moving powerfully in our generation. Don't be cynical or discouraged by what you see happening in the natural realm. Keep your eyes fixed on that which the Lord and Father have given you to do, maintain your focus and be ready for those divine encounters as god begins drawing people to Himself, pouring out His Spirit, and accomplishing His will, plans and purposes in these last days.

Reflection Questions

  1. Personal Awareness: When was the last time you clearly sensed God's presence or heard His voice? What might be hindering your spiritual sensitivity?

  2. Grace Upon Grace: Can you identify specific instances in your life where you've experienced God's grace building upon previous grace? How has this shaped your faith journey?

  3. Vessel Assessment: In what ways are you currently serving as a vessel of honor for God's purposes? What areas of your life need to be surrendered more fully?

  4. Urgency and Action: Is there someone in your life who is "teetering on the edge of doubt"? What specific steps can you take this week to share God's love with them?

  5. Spiritual Perception: What might God be doing in your community, workplace, or family that you haven't noticed because you weren't looking with spiritual eyes?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I stand in awe of Your grace that never ceases, wave upon wave washing over my life and over this entire world. We Thank You for not giving up on humanity, for continuing to pour out Your Spirit even when we are undeserving.

Open our/my eyes to see what You are doing in this hour and generation. Unstop my ears to hear Your voice above the noise of the world. Give me a heart that is sensitive to Your Spirit's movement and responsive to Your heartfelt promptings.

Make me a vessel of honor, cleansed and set apart for Your use. I willingly and joyfully surrender every area of my life to Your Lordship—my plans, my relationships, my resources, my time. Use me O Lord, however You like all for Your glory and the glory and honor of God the Father.

I pray for those who are teetering on the edge of doubt, and those standing in the valley of desicion making foolish choices that lead to destruction or even no choice as they waver between them.

Draw them to Yourself O Lord with cords of love. Open their eyes to see the truth and their need for You. Give me opportunities to share Your truth with Spirit and power as I manifest Your love to them.

Help me to live with a holy urgency, knowing that the time is indeed short and the harvest is plentiful. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your life flow freely through me like a river of living water, bringing refreshment and hope to a dry and thirsty world.

May Your Name be glorified, Your presence be manifested, and Your kingdom come in my life and in the lives of those all around me. I pray this in the mighty name of Christ Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Amen.

Today's Declaration

Today, I choose to position myself under the waterfall of God's grace. I will not harden my heart to His voice nor close my eyes to His work. I am a vessel of honor, available and worthy for the Master's use. I will wholeheartedly cooperate with the Holy Spirit's leading in this hour and generation, believing that God is powerfully at work drawing those whom He has chosen unto Himself. I will live with urgency, love with compassion, and witness with boldness, knowing that now is the day of salvation.

Scripture for Meditation

"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on Him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn." - Zechariah 12:10

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."  Titus 2:11-13

Closing Thought

The waves of God's grace are crashing on the shores of humanity today. Will you wade into the waters? Will you allow yourself to be swept up in the current of His Spirit? Will you become a conduit through which His grace flows to others? The choice is yours, but the invitation is clear: Come. Draw near. Enter in. Experience the fullness of life that is found only in intimate communion with the Father, through the Son, by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Grace upon grace. Wave upon wave. This is your day. This is your moment. Don't let it pass you by.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
