A Heartfelt Prayer to the Father
O Eternal Father, Ancient of Days, Creator of all that is seen and unseen, In the stillness of this sacred moment, I bow my heart before Your throne of grace. As the dawn of this new Hebrew year 5786 breaks upon Your creation, I come with reverence and holy trembling, acknowledging that I stand on sacred holy ground in Your presence.
Father, in Your infinite mercy, you have called me to reflect Your divine likeness, and to be transformed into the image of Your Beloved Son. Yet how often have I fallen short of the glory of my Lord, allowing the mirror of my soul to become clouded by the dust of this world, distorting the reflection of Your glory that You intended me to bear.
I confess before You, that I have not always been a pure and clear vessel through which Your light could shine. The waters of my heart have been troubled by pride, fear, doubt, and foolish self-seeking. Please forgive me, O Lord, and cleanse me with the purifying fire of Your Holy Spirit and Presence within me, blow upon the embers of Your altar and set me aflame, for the glory and honor of Your Great Name, O Lord I fervently pray.
In this Acceptable Year of the Lord—this season of Your divine favor and restoration, I surrender all my being again anew to Your transforming work. Like the tent pegs driven deep into the soil in Isaiah's prophecy, anchor my soul O Lord, firmly in Your truth. Stretch the curtains of my understanding and enlarge the place of Your dwelling within me.
Make me a mirror, O Father God, polished by Your loving discipline, positioned by Your sovereign hand so that when others look upon my life, they do not see me, but only the blessed reflection of Christ Jesus. May I truly decrease Father, so that He may increase until it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me, I pray Thee Abba, Father.
As the barren woman rejoices at the promise of children, I too rejoice with great anticipation of the spiritual fruit You will bring forth in abundance through my life. Where there has been barrenness, bring abundance. Where there has been mourning, bring the oil of joy and gladness. Where there has been heaviness, bring the garment of praise, in Your Great Name my Lord I do most humbly pray.
Abba, Father, clothe me with the garments of Thy salvation and cover me with the robe of Thy righteousness. Transform every part of me from glory to glory, until that day when I shall see You face to face, and the reflection gives way to perfect oneness and holy intimate communion with You Father at Your table. In the blessed and Holy Great Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Your only begotten Son, Yeshua Hamashiach, My Lord and Redeemer, I pray Thee. Amen.
Becoming His Reflection Glorious Transformation in the Acceptable Year of the Lord 5786
“And we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
The Mirror and the River
In the wilderness, beside flowing waters, stands a mirror. Not made by human hands, this mirror reflects not our own image, but the glory of Christ shining from above. This is no ordinary reflection—it is a sacred portal through which we glimpse the divine nature we are called to embody.
The Hebrew year 5786 speaks prophetically of a profound spiritual reality: we are entering a season of divine connection and expansion. The Hebrew letter Vav (ו), representing the number 6 in 5786, symbolizes connection—a hook or tent peg that joins and secures. The letter Peh (פ), representing 80, symbolizes the mouth and speech. Together, they reveal a year where our connection to God will be strengthened as we speak forth His truth and reflect His nature.
From Barrenness to Blessing
Isaiah 54:1-2 declares: "Shout for joy, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth in song and cry aloud, you who have never travailed... Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not hold back. Lengthen your ropes and drive your stakes deep."
Many believers have experienced seasons of spiritual barrenness, times when our hearts felt dry, our prayers seemed to bounce off the ceiling, and the mirror of our souls reflected very little of God's glory. Yet in this Acceptable Year of the Lord, God is calling us to prepare for abundance. Like a barren woman suddenly blessed with children, we are instructed to make room for the blessing God is about to pour out.
The transformation from barrenness to blessing doesn't happen instantly. It requires us to drive our stakes down deep, and to anchor ourselves firmly in God's Word and Presence. It demands that we stretch out our curtains expanding our capacity to receive from Him. It necessitates that we "lengthen our cords"—extending our faith beyond comfortable boundaries.
The Acceptable Year of the Lord
When Jesus stood in the synagogue of Nazareth and read from Isaiah 61, He proclaimed: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor... to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord" Luke 4:18-19. Then He made the astonishing declaration: "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
The "acceptable year" refers to the Year of Jubilee, a time of liberation, restoration, and new beginnings; a time when the Land returns to its original owner. In Christ, every year becomes an "Acceptable Year" as we continuously experience His redemptive work. Yet there are special seasons when God's divine favor seems to intensify, when the veil between heaven and earth becomes thinner, and transformation accelerates. The year 5786 is such a season, a time when God the Father is inviting us to experience a deeper intimacy and radical transformation, enabling us to wonderfully reflect His likeness and nature as we manifest as His beloved children in the earth for His glory.
This is the favor of the Lord a Blessed Year of Becoming!
Transformation, is becoming like Christ, it is not instantaneous but a slow and steady progression. The apostle Paul describes it as changing "from glory to glory" in 2 Corinthians 3:18. This awesome metamorphosis happens as we behold the Lord's glory with unveiled faces.
Consider the caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly. The process occurs in the hidden place of the chrysalis, where what appears to be destruction is, reconstruction. Similarly, our transformation often happens in seasons of hiddenness and apparent setbacks. What feels like loss may be God removing what hinders us from reflecting His image.
The Hebrew concept of transformation differs from Greek thinking. While Greek thought emphasizes changing outward form, Hebrew understanding focuses on inner character development which manifests outwardly. True biblical transformation begins in the heart and mind, then radiates outward through our actions, words and behavior.
Reflecting His Likeness and Nature
Genesis tells us we were created in God's image and likeness. This image was marred by sin, but in Christ, it is being restored. We reflect God's likeness in three primary ways:
1. Mentally: We reflect God's intellect and creativity through our thoughts, ideas, and innovations. As we renew our minds, our thinking increasingly aligns with His. Romans 12:2
2. Morally: We reflect God's holiness and righteousness through our character and choices. As the Holy Spirit produces His fruit within us, we increasingly demonstrate God's essence and nature. Galatians 5:22-23
3. Socially: We reflect God's relational nature through our love for others. As we grow in compassion, forgiveness, and selfless service, we demonstrate the love of God for God is love. 1 John 4:8
Practical Steps for Becoming His Reflection
1. Behold Him Daily: Transformation comes through beholding. Set aside time each day to gaze upon the Lord through Scripture, worship, and prayer.
2. Remove the Veil: Identify and surrender anything that veils your heart, such as unforgiveness, unbelief, worldly attachments, and/or hidden sin.
3. Position Yourself by the River of God: Just as a mirror beside a river reflects both the sky above and the flowing waters beneath, position yourself where the living waters of God's Spirit are flowing freely.
4. Speak Life: Remember that Peh (פ) represents the mouth. Your words have creative power. Speak words that align with God's truth, His will, plans and purposes.
5. Drive Your Stakes Deep: Establish strong spiritual disciplines that anchor your soul in God's presence and truth.
6. Stretch Your Curtains: Step out in faith beyond your comfort zone, allowing God to expand your capacity.
7. Embrace the Process: Transformation is often uncomfortable. Don't resist the divine discomfort that leads to growth.
Conclusion: The Glory Revealed
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us." Romans 8:18
As we journey through this Acceptable Year of the Lord 5786, let us remember that our transformation is not merely for personal benefit. We are being changed into His image so that His glory might be revealed through us to a world in desperate need of seeing God.
The mirror in the wilderness reflects the brightness of Christ's glory sevenfold. As we stand before that mirror—the Word of God illuminated by His Spirit, we too begin to shine with His reflected light. Just as Moses' face glowed after being in God's presence, our lives will radiate the divine nature we increasingly share.
May this year be one of profound and glorious transformation, as we become ever clearer reflections of His likeness and nature, for His glory and the blessing of many.
Praise be unto God the Father, Christ in us the hope of glory. Amen
We thank You Father for moving mightily within us to will and to do for Your good pleasure; For by Thy Spirit day by day and glory by glory we are beginning to reflect Him in all we say think and do, all for the glory and honor of You. Amen and Amen.
